After an exposure: the first steps

If you are stuck by a used needle or cut by a used instrument, wash the area with soap and water right away. If blood or saliva splashes into your eyes, nose or mouth, flush it with clean water.

Then tell the clinical lead at once, even if it seems minor. They start the practice’s exposure steps with you.
